Call for Grants

Got a Grant Idea?

? Build a community garden. ? Campaign for a living wage. ? Feed the hungry. ? Work with gender equality issues or feminist spirituality. Large or small, global or local--social action requires resources. The UU Women's Connection wants to connect women of action to a community of resources and support. You see a need. You have an idea! You develop a plan of action. You have the energy, but not quite enough money to realize your plan. It is amazing what a small grant can do! In 2005-06 a $500 grant to SIU-Edwardsville student, Sara Carpenter, enabled her to continue her Project Dirty Laundry program which she then offered free of charge to district congregations and at 2006 General Assembly in St Louis. The UU Women's Connection is making a call to the Central Midwest District for grant proposals to further social justice projects in the district. If you need seed money to initiate a project you envision, or if your project is already running, but requires more money, send a grant idea or request to the UU Womens Connection for application and grant guidelines information.
